Oh this is funny. When with cerec software 3.8 I did a tattoo in sorts. I did a emax crown and engraved my initials on the lingual aspect of my husbands crown. I used the define tool then stained it. This was three years ago.We all got a good laugh. I just googled this. I didn’t realize that this was happening out there. Wow would love to see what you did.
This is too funny. We have been building our own crowns over 3 years now and I absolutely love tooth tattooing. We have kept it simple with hearts, peace symbols and smiley faces. My requests have been the word HOTT and also the iron man symbol. I love the challenge. We usually just use the stains so that they can be removed in the future if necessary. Love to see that other offices are having fun with this too!
Is there any issue with trademarks? One of my colleagues had his lab tech tattoo crowns when I first joined him 20 years ago. I’ve seen it on dozens and dozens of the crowns he did. You know how people talk? Well someone talked about a cool Micky Mouse tattoo on their crown and subsequently the lab tech got a call from Disney who immediately warned him that they would come down on him with a lawsuit if he continued to place any of their trademarked characters on his crowns without permission and I’d suppose a large rights fee. That was the end of that.
FWIW, maybe be careful? I don’t really know what the situation is today or if it matters.
